illustrators - MR GAUKY

i felt because the concept behind my project has changed to become a more illustrative based brief using both minimalist and detailed illustrations combining the two within a book i should look at some more illustrators for some inspiration.

Mr gauky 
Mr gauky is an illustrator from yorkshire working as a freelance designer. He has this unique style of illustrating which you can instantly recognise as his. His illustrations are great, so much detail and with a style i havnt seen before which is difficult to achieve with illustration, creating a unique style. The thing i like best about his illustrations are the eyes, they are so strange, dont necessarily look like eyes however the detail used around them make them really stand out. The fur on the fox works really well aswel, fur being something i have always struggled with illustrating and maybe incorporating some of Mr gaukys style within mine would help allot.
